Number of talent ( Gifts) answers the question on how many talents ( gifts) one can have at a time?. The truth is that one can have more than one talent. The way you handle your talent determines whether God ( the giver of talent) will add more to you or not.
The Bible says, in a rich man's house there are many vessels some are made of wood, some of silver, some of gold but if any one can purify himself of these things, he will be made vessel unto honour. We encourage you today to work with what you have. A worker is worthy of his wages. After er planting comes harvest. A talented worker cannot be idle cannot be poor and cannot be for food . It is your special ability that makes you remembered. It makes you relevant, it also makes you stands the test of time .
BASIC ENEMIES OF TALENT M
There are many enemies of talent, but distraction is the chief. Satan Cannot have power over you unless you are distracted . Fear is the greatest devastating instrument of the enemy but it begins to occur after distraction must have taken it's full cause . Other enemies of talent include :
1. Sin : this could be seen as breaking of God's law or behavior that is against the principles of morality. It is also an offense against the general public and is considered contrary to common sense . It militates against talent.
2. Inferiority complex : This makes one feel he is not qualified or that he has the lowest rank, social position, quality and importance . Anyone who has this type of feeling may not really like to function or show case his talent
3. Success : When people think they have made it, they relax and fail to do anything again.
4. Distraction : This is the major enemy of talent . It is saying no to Hebrew 12:2, Which says looking unto jesus, the author and finisher of our faith ...... It is trying to cover up disgrace or shame that may occur or may not really occur or the one that has already occurred .
5. Comparison : When you compare yourself with others, you will either think you have much or that you have not even started. Comparison never a true test of anything.
6. Negative thinking : The way you think is the way you act. When your thinking is negative your actions, and confession will be negative. What you think about yourself makes you say what you say about yourself. AS A MAN THINKS IN HIS HEART, SO HE IS.
7. Habits : This is a condition, a general quality of the mind or body. It is someone settled practice and usual behavior that cannot easily be given up.
8. Procrastination : putting off what should be done immediately till next time is a big enemy of talent. Procrastination is not only a thief of time but a grave where opportunities are buried.
9. Disobedience : A disobedient person knows the rules, regulations, principles, guild lines and order up on which he functions but refuse to pay attention to them. Production should be based on specifications.
10. Past failure : sometimes, one may not like to try again because he couldn't make it last time when he tried.
11. Discouragement : When one is discouraged from doing something, it means that difficult has been put on his way ; make it seem not worth while. It means that the person has been persuaded not to try to do anything. A lot of things can lead to Discouragement.
12. Laziness. Poverty will always overtake Laziness since anyone who possess this type of bad quality is inactive, does little work and is even unwilling to work. He knows what should be done but he is not ready to do it.
13. The opinion of others : This is also called public opinion - it has to do with what others think concerning you. Some people may because of other people opinion fail to face their talents. They may think you should be bigger or smaller or none of them.
14. Pride : pride goes before a fall . It is as a result of knowledge of one's worth and character . Too high an opinion of oneself, position and processions.
15. Tradition : These are opinion, belief, customs, etc handed down and is believed to be unchangeable.
Other enemies of talent are Environment, Satan, society pressure, opposition , etc.
COMPONENT OF TALENT
1. INDIVIDUAL TALENT : This simply describes talent which one has personally and doesn't depend on other people's talent to show case it. It is just what God has blessed him with specially. For example, an inspirator, a public speaker, etc doesn't depend on any other to function.
2. Collective Talent : This is talent of a group. The individual that makes up the group depend on each others talent to function. For example, in music making. All are expected to function in order to make music, the drummer, the vocalist, the boardist, the dancers, the lead guitar, etc.
In this component of talent, team spirit is needed to record a successful work.
