Talent is a particular kind of natural power to do something very well. So, if you are talented, you are a professional, what I mean is that you have been employed. You have an occupation. Potentiality is better than credentiality, so even without a certificate, you have a career. The gift and calling of God is without repentance. Even before you were conceived, God has given you powers and capabilities - the ability to function very well in some works. Talent is gift.
You don't need certificate / credentials to go to work because there are those who have certificate / credentials but lack the technical know -how.
Far be it that you will carry certificate you will not be able to defend. Find out what you have particular kind of natural power to do very well and begin to do it - that is your work, that's your calling, it is your profession. What you need to do is to submit him who has given the talent ( gifts ) and has called you to function ( duty)
People tends to look down on their talents because God gives it to them without them laboring much to obtain training on it. The truth of the matter is that the energy spent outside one's talents is a wasted energy. Psychologically there is what you derive joy in doing, not just that it makes you feel fulfilled but it makes you highly respected personnel. The things that makes people pay attention to you. That's your calling and what you are talented to do. For example, a talented musician derives joy in singing and doesn't find it difficult to remember what to sing and how to sing it. Each time he sings, he sees himself functioning in his original duty post.
A man who has a particular kind of natural power to do something well doesn't run from any kind of challenge his work poses. He sees every challenge that his work poses as one of those problems he is there to solve. Responsibility is better than reputation. Imitation is limitation. Don't join others to where they are making it, rather go to where you will make it.
Don't do what others are doing because there is what your fingers, brain and other sense organs have been crafted to do very well. The Bible says, the gift of a man makes a way for him and takes him to stand before kings and not mean men.
Be yourself and do your own no matter how small - the Bible says, despise not the days of your little beginning. You will be great. In that field of human endeavors, nobody is greater or better qualified than you, why? Because, you are talented ( gifted ) and called - that's the best qualifications.
At times, the beginning might be too small or you are afraid of how to start and stand properly. Fear not, God is with you. He has made the promise to be with those who are already to take off and remain in their tracks .maybe, you rise and fall, no problem, don't allow your heart to fail you, for it is by standing and falling a child learns to stand. The book of Jeremiah 8 : 4 says, when men fall down, don't they rise up again? Rise up, take a different approach, change pattern. It is not yet over until it is finally over. Isaiah in his word says, Arise and shine for your light is come and the glory of the lord is risen upon you. He went on to saying that nation will come to see your light because darkness as thick as nights will cover the earth but your light will soon shine ( Isaiah 60)
I believe that what prophet Isaiah is saying is that our talents will proffer solution to the big problems of this world. Yes, because when people hear that you have solutions to their problems, they will come from far and wide to see you and hear you. Your special ability at work in any field of human endeavors fight even witches and wizard very. The quality of work one does is determined by the natural endowment cum special ability present in him.
FEATURES OF TALENT
1. Talent doesn't believe in failure - that's why a talented personnel doesn't believe that something can't be done that need to be done. Talent has power and strength over failure and rules over it convincingly.
2. It doesn't permit cultural, religious limitations.
3. You can't stop talent because no man can stop God.
4. You can't discourage talent.
5. A talented person believes in changes and doesn't fear to initiate it 6. He believes that there is still a better way of doing a thing.
7. He doesn't fear mistakes and is ready to correct himself.
8. God's talent is irreversible and irrevocable unless the man that has the talent has just decided to trade it.
